AMD Ryzen 7 1700X with X370 and B350 Unboxings
I can't believe Ryzen is finally here! And apparently it's an A.I. Learning processor? Well that's what AMD says on their website. Any ideas on how to test this?
AM4 Motherboards: GIGABYTE AB350 Gaming BIOSTAR Racing X370GT7
Ryzen 7 1700X Thoughts: Should be a great CPU, but the packaging is very minimal. I honestly expected a little more although I guess I shouldn't have since the 1700X doesn't come with the Wraith Spire LED cooler, or any cooler for that matter. It's just enough cardboard to fill its disappointingly empty box so that it pushes the CPU onto the box side windows as is the custom for CPU packaging. It also comes with standard case bling to show you are rocking Ryzen, or sell on eBay to people who just think it looks cool, and the Installation Instructions.
Gigabyte AB350 Gaming Thoughts: I honestly thought that this motherboard would look more like a budget build motherboard since it's only about $100 on Newegg and, from what I understand regarding the chipsets, the B350 seems to be the lesser performance alternative. Despite the way it appeared online, it looks much better in person and I can wait to see what it can do. The features all look very interesting and my only concern at this point is the number of SATA ports, or lack thereof. It looks like there are 4 SATA express with only 2 SATA III, though I could be mistaken.
Biostar Racing X370GT5 Thoughts: The board looks great and has lots of cool features including usb 3.1 type A and C. It also has an interesting design and an LED MOSFET? The I/O Shield looks bargain brand, and I'm not sure about why the bottom 2 PCI slots are are higher than the first 2, but it looks to be quite an interesting board to explore and I hope the BIOS has as many features and options as the board itself.
